A routine witness inspection ahead of a large batch release identified a fixing pattern deviation on the structural panel production line.
None. The deviation was caught before dispatch, so no defective panels reached site.
Production was paused while the cause was traced to a jig that had drifted out of tolerance. The jig was recalibrated and the affected batch was reworked before release.
A scheduled witness inspection at the point of batch release, not only at first article, is worth the calendar time. Pausing a factory line for a day is far cheaper than remediating 40 installed panels.
